The First 1,001 Days
Matter Most
From community drop-ins to registered nurseries — MGM Foundation is building a complete childcare and early years ecosystem rooted in compassion, developmental science, and the real lives of young mothers.
Free & low-cost access · Trauma-informed · NHS & Family Hub partnerships
Proud Partners of the 1001 Critical Days Movement
The period from conception to a child's second birthday is the most critical window for brain development, attachment, and lifelong health. Everything we build — every nursery, every group, every programme — is designed to make those days count.
🌱 Our nursery and childcare services are launching in phases. Register your interest today to be first to hear when places become available.

Our Childcare & Early Years Services
Seven connected services — from the earliest days of pregnancy through to school age — building a complete early years ecosystem for young families in our community.
Community Baby & Toddler Hub
Ages 0–2 · Drop-In · Free
A warm, welcoming drop-in space for babies and toddlers that goes beyond a standard nursery. We combine developmental play, health check-ins, and parent coaching in one setting — all aligned with the 1001 Critical Days framework. Delivered in partnership with NHS health visitors.
Childcare-Integrated Programme Delivery
Embedded On-Site · Qualified Practitioners
Qualified childcare embedded directly into our Young Mums Connect and Early Years Resilience programmes. Mothers attend workshops while their babies receive stimulating, developmental care next door — removing the biggest barrier to participation.
Registered Childminder Network
MGM Graduate Pathway · Ofsted-Registered
We train and support young mothers who have completed our programmes to become registered childminders. This creates affordable, peer-trusted local childcare while opening real income and career pathways for our graduates — a true community-led solution.
Holiday & Wraparound Childcare Club
Ages 0–12 · School Holidays & After School
Activity-based holiday and wraparound childcare for families in our Youth Prevention programme. Low-cost, fun, and designed around working parents and young mothers returning to study or employment.
MGM Community Nursery
20–25 Places · Community-Based · Ofsted Registration Coming Soon
A full community nursery with 20–25 places, rooted in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent. Designed specifically for babies and toddlers of young mothers, it combines professional early years education with the warmth, peer support, and trauma-informed practice that sets MGM Foundation apart.
Baby Wellbeing & Bonding Groups
Pregnancy – 12 Months · Perinatal
Targeted at the earliest days — from pregnancy through baby's first year. We offer infant massage, attachment and bonding sessions, weaning support, and speech and language stimulation in a gentle, peer-supported group setting.
"Grow Together" Stay-and-Learn Sessions
Ages 0–2 · Parents Stay · Family Hubs
Parents stay with their children throughout — this is not a creche but a co-participation space where mothers build parenting confidence alongside their baby's development. Structured, nurturing, and fundable through Family Hubs and Start for Life.
A Joined-Up Early Years Ecosystem
Our services do not exist in isolation — they form a seamless pathway from pregnancy to school age, all built around the young mother and her child.
