Mother & Baby Services

Every Mother and Baby
Deserves to Thrive Together

From community support to residential care — MGM Foundation walks alongside mothers and babies at every stage of their journey, ensuring no family is separated simply because the right support was not there.

Free community services · Safeguarding-led · Non-judgmental

A Full Pathway of Support

Too often, mothers in crisis face a stark choice: manage alone, or lose their child to the care system. There is rarely anything in between. MGM Foundation exists to change that — building a compassionate, community-rooted pathway that holds mothers and babies together from the earliest signs of struggle all the way through to independence.

We combine peer-led community support, intensive group programmes, NHS partnership, and — in development — residential provision. Whatever a mother needs, wherever she is in her journey, we are here.

Our Four Pillars

A joined-up approach across the full mother and baby pathway.

🏥

NHS Partnership & Referral

Perinatal Mental Health · Step-Down Care

We work alongside NHS psychiatric mother and baby units, perinatal mental health teams, and health visitors to ensure mothers receive seamless community support before, during, and after clinical care.

🤝

Community Mother & Baby Programme

Non-Residential · Ages 13–30 · Free to Access

Intensive, non-residential group and one-to-one support for mothers and babies together. A safe, nurturing space where mothers build confidence, connect with peers, and develop practical parenting skills.

🏠

Residential Mother & Baby Unit

Supported Accommodation · Coming Soon

Safe, supported accommodation for mothers at risk of family separation. Mothers and their babies live together in a therapeutic environment, receiving intensive practical support, parenting assessment, and wraparound care.

🌱

Aftercare & Peer Support

Community Reintegration · Ongoing

The journey does not end when a programme finishes. Our peer-led aftercare supports mothers back into community life — with ongoing mentoring, social connection, and practical help as they build their futures.

What Our Community Programme Offers

Our community mother and baby programme is free, accessible, and open now. No referral needed — just reach out.

💜

Mother & Baby Wellbeing Groups

Weekly peer-led groups where mothers and babies attend together. Mindfulness, emotional wellbeing, peer connection, and practical parenting support in a warm, non-judgmental space.

👶

Baby Development & Bonding

Guided sessions supporting early attachment, baby communication, sensory play, and developmental milestones — delivered by trained facilitators alongside NHS health visitors.

🧠

Perinatal Mental Health Support

Non-clinical support for mothers experiencing anxiety, postnatal depression, or trauma. We work alongside clinical services and provide a safe bridge for mothers waiting for or stepping down from NHS care.

🍽️

Practical Skills & Independence

Budgeting, cooking, digital skills, benefits navigation, and housing support — the practical toolkit every new mother needs but too few receive.

👩‍👩‍👧

Peer Mentoring

Every mother is paired with a peer mentor who has lived experience of similar challenges. Not a professional looking in — someone who has walked this road and come through.

🔗

Referral & Advocacy

We walk alongside mothers navigating complex systems — health, housing, legal, children's services — advocating for them and ensuring they are never left to face it alone.
